Joan Donovan is the research director of the Harvard Kennedy School’s Shorenstein Center on Media, Politics and Public Policy and the director of the Technology and Social Change project, where she studies disinformation and online extremism. Additionally, she cofounded the Kennedy School’s Misinformation Review and serves as a columnist at MIT Technology Review.
Donovan received her PhD in sociology and science studies from the University of California San Diego, and a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Sociology from Concordia University.
